DroneMobile Services Back Online

Posted on March 14, 2017

On Monday, March 13th, from approximately 2:30pm-5pm PDT, we experienced a temporary interruption of most DroneMobile services. While alerts were still being transmitted, commands and tracking services were temporarily disabled.

As of Monday evening (PDT), all DroneMobile services and devices appear to have come back online and are fully functioning.

Please reopen the DroneMobile app and attempt to send a command. If you continue to experience communication issues, log out from the app and log back in, as that should re-establish communication. If you have any problems logging into the DroneMobile app, please delete the app from your smartphone and download the most current version from the App/Google Play Store.

We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we continue to work towards preventing all future outages. If you’d like to stay updated on DroneMobile services, visit our blog at

DroneMobile Updates

Posted on February 24, 2017

What’s New In This Version

  • Improved Communication – We have updated our command protocol to bring you more reliable communication.

We are always trying to improve how we manage the data coming to and from our servers. Whether it’s speeding up response times or minimizing  loss packets. This time around we made some tweaks to address the concerns on the 201 errors you may have been receiving.

  • Revamped Troubleshooting System – We completely overhauled the troubleshooting system within DroneMobile to help you solve any issues you may be having.

Our previous troubleshooting system was more of a guide on all the potential issues you could be dealing with. This time around we are presenting you with troubleshooting steps based directly on the type of error we’re seeing in the system/network.

  • Service Mode – You can now place your Drone into Service Mode. This will disable all commands for a set time so that your Authorized DroneMobile Dealer can successfully troubleshoot any issues you are having.

We realized that our DroneMobile Dealers did not have it so easy when customers reported issues to them. Using a customers app or calling into our support team just to do basic troubleshooting was not very effective. Service Mode, when turned on by the user, will allow their dealer to properly test/diagnose their issue.

To activate “Service Mode” within the DroneMobile app, go to “Settings” > “Vehicles” > [Your Vehicle Name] and scroll down to “Service Mode”. Press the toggle switch to set the length of the service period (maximum 24 hours).

  • Bug and content fixes.

There always seems to be something and when there is, we try our best to address all the little quirks.

We hope you like the new improvements and we promise to keep them coming!

At 5:00 am PST we received notifications of intermittent connectivity to AT&T’s network effecting most DR-3400 users. As of 11:00 am PST AT&T is reporting all issues have been resolved.

We have been informed by our carrier that their international roaming partners will be retiring their CDMA networks, effective 2/1/17.

What does this mean for me?

If you currently have a DoneMobile DR-3100, starting 2/1/17 your device will no longer be able to communicate when your drive into Canada. You will still have coverage in the United States but just not in Canada.

If you are constantly traveling across borders and need to have dual coverage, our DR-3400 supports all of North America. Just visit any of our supporting DroneMobile retailers to inquire what options are available to you.

Technical Bulletin – Installation

Posted on December 7, 2016

When installing a DroneMobile with an FT-DC2, it’s important that you make the connection in the Gray port. Using the Blue port on the FT-DC2 will result in damages to the DroneMobile hardware.
